On May 28, VNET Group in collaboration with China Telecom held the launching ceremony of the Phase II Project of Guangzhou Science City (Lianyun) Data Center in Guangzhou City. The ceremony was attended by Samuel Shen (CEO of VNET Group, Executive Chairman of NEOLINK), Chang Wenzhuo (General Manager of Solutions Division of China Telecom Corporation Limited Guangdong Branch), Sun Kaiyang (Deputy General Manager of Solutions Center of China Telecom Corporation Limited Guangzhou Branch), Zhang Benhao (General Manager of VNET South China), and more than 30 media and customer representatives.

Looking back, VNET Group signed an strategic cooperation framework agreement with China Telecom Corporation Limited Guangdong Branch and the People's Government of Chancheng District, Foshan City as far back as on March 16th, 2011. They jointly invested RMB 800million to build the next-generation green energy-saving cloud computing data center that covers 20,000 square meters, established an unprecedented cooperation between China Telecom Corporation Limited Guangdong Branch and data centers, and set a benchmark for the industry. It also indicated the great cooperation potential between the two parties in the future.

Creating a large space to boost the new pattern of industrial integration in the Pearl River Delta

The Phase II Project of Guangzhou Science City (Lianyun) Data Center is officially put into operation. This indicates that VNET Group has made another milestone progress in delivering secure, economic-efficient and reliable data center and cloud solutions for enterprises.

In 2017, the Guangzhou Science City (Lianyun) Data Center of VNET Group was successfully completed in Guangzhou Science City, Economic and Technological Development Zone, Guangzhou City, covering a total area of 52,284 square meters and a total of 8000 cabinets as planned. The data center was designed and built in accordance with the national Class A standards (GB50174-2017), and was certified. The data center is a high-end flagship data center park VNET Group in South China. Now 10 modules of the phase II project have been put into operation, with a total of 3,300 cabinets. It is within 40-minute driving distance from Baiyun Airport, Guangzhou Railway Station and Guangzhou-Shenzhen Expressway. With the ever-improving supporting infrastructure, the data center will provide a smooth channel to facilitate the high-speed operation of personnel flow, logistics and information flow in Guangzhou Science City, rapidly expand the space for the integration of technology and industry, promote the construction of world-class high-tech industrial park, and bring a new pattern for international open services.
